(PHOTOS) SEE What Happened To Alleged Thief Caught In Ikeja This Yesterday Afternoon

Residents of Adeleke Street, Ikeja, Lagos State, were this afternoon taken by surprise when two suspected carjackers were given a hot chase to the neighbourhood. The suspects were said to have broken into a Toyota Highlander jeep
parked on Tinuade Street, opposite First Bank Bust Stop, off Allen Road, and made away with phones and a laptop computer.
Luck, however, ran out on one of the suspects as he was chased by eyewitnesses and caught at Adeleke Street, off Tinuade. Reacting to the incident, a lady, who works in one of the offices located along Tinuade street, said on Friday, June 19, some people came to their office dressed as PHCN staff and stole phones and laptops.
The neighbourhood which became very apprehensive following the incident, led to some of the residents attempting to burn the suspect alive. But some of the residents, who new such action would be against the law halted people from indulging in jungle justice, as most of the people at the scene wanted to make sure jungle justice was carried out. Because the neighbourhood is filled with decent and learned people, who knew Jungle justice is not allowed by law, stood against it and told the owner of the vandalised vehicle to call the police.
The apprehended suspect after much beating and threat to burn him alive, confessed that himself and his accomplice actually committed the crime. He said his accomplice was the one that took their loot, and urged the owner of the car
to quickly track him down before he disposes them at computer village, Ikeja. When the suspect was asked to produce the phone number of his accomplice, he said he doesn’t have a mobile phone, noting that he can only be
tracked down at the hideout where they normally meet after a successful job.
